An object is not only functional. A chair is made to sit on, a lamp to light, a cabinet to store. But some pieces go further: they change the visual hierarchy of a room and become anchors for the whole interior.
A sculptural armchair can redefine a corner. A large coffee table can become the center of circulation. An open shelf can separate spaces without closing them.
These structuring pieces often have strong scale, clear materiality or a recognizable form. Around them, the rest of the interior must be composed rather than simply filled.
The challenge is to avoid the showroom effect. Strong pieces need space to breathe and must remain connected to real use. Living with design is therefore a relationship with objects, not only a style.
The most interesting furniture does not only decorate. It produces space. It changes the way we look, move and live.
