Space Age UFO pendant lamp 'Bug Eye' (orange) by Massive, 1970s
Space Age pendant lamp in a UFO shape from the 1970s. This lamp is also called the "bug eye" lamp and was produced by Massive.
This lamp is often attributed to the Italian designer Luigi Colani, which is certainly not the case. The design was most likely inspired by the FUTURO House (1968) by the Finnish designer Matti Suuronen. The lamp was available in six different colors and was a deserved success.
This pendant lamp is in good vintage condition. It has normal signs of wear, including light scratches and a small chip of 1.7 cm (see photo). The wiring has also been replaced for safety reasons.
Dimensions are 20 cm (height) x 40 cm (width) x 40 cm (depth). Total height is adjustable.
