At the end of the 1960s, Mobilier International became one of the key players in bringing contemporary design to France. Founded by Theo and Michel Schulmann, the company introduced the French market to works by Eames, Jacobsen and Poul Kjaerholm, while also publishing its own models.

Among them, the collection designed by Giancarlo Ciancimino stands out as a remarkable example of technical rigor and structural elegance. Its secret was an extruded aluminum profile shaped like a four-leaf clover: discreet, yet essential, and the core of the system.

An intelligent construction principle

This clover profile, the collection's true signature, combines ease of assembly with formal coherence. Connected to natural anodized pressed-aluminum crosspieces, it supports the tops while allowing the furniture bodies to be suspended. This ingenious system provides unprecedented modularity: elements can be assembled, dismantled and reconfigured without complex tools.

Ciancimino developed a complete vocabulary: coffee tables, consoles, desks and storage units, each piece in dialogue with the next. The collection embodies an idea dear to the 1960s: rational, functional and adaptable furniture designed for modern life.

In the spirit of its time, the system accepts different interchangeable tops that play with contrasts of material. Smoked glass, simply placed on the frame and separated by rubber pads, introduces a light, almost aerial transparency.

Marble inserted into the crosspieces evokes nobility and durability, while walnut or varnished rosewood veneers recall craft heritage and the warmth of wood in a context of furniture industrialization.
